Description :This site provides information on American poets, both the famous and the lesser-known. There are links lead to pages on the goals of the academy, membership requirements, the calendar of American poetry events, and a set of literary exhibits. At "Poetry Exhibits", Current Exhibits are a series of showcases focusing on American poetry in the twentieth century. Historical and thematic essays, poems, photos, biographies, bibliographies, and audio samples of poets reading from their work are available. Listening Booth can be visited to hear poets reading from their work. In addition, the site also has a link to information on the Academy's National Poetry Month (every April), with tip sheets on readings and displays, plus a resource guide listing publishers, literary organizations, library organizations, and distributors.
